Installation Instructions :

Hard-SPL is needed if you wanna flash custom roms

Tips on how to flash a custom rom:
-Do not let battery be below 50%
-Keep the device on a secure location (so that it wont fall and loose connection to your pc during flash)
-Enter bootloader (rainbowscreen) pressing power button and volume down simultaneously (hold the buttons untill you enter bootloader)
-Connect to pc (activesync)
-Run the ROMUpdateUtility.exe and follow onscreen instructions

Flash via micro-sd method
-Make sure x1 is hard-spl first
-Make sure your micro-sd is formatted w/ fat-32
-rename the image file (normally "ruu_signed.nbh") to Kovsimg.nbh, copy that to the micro-sd, and put that on your X1's sd-card
-Bring x1 to boot-loader mode by turning off the x1 completely. Hold the "volume down" button on the right, and hold the power on button until you see the tri-color screen.
-Then follow the on-screen instruction

Overview : New Windows 6.1 ROM for the old 6.0 Version

1. Download ROM
2. Open the file (EXE) with winrar in a new folder
3. Open CSHK3_XP.EXE with HxD editor
4. From search menü: replace i780CS with i780DX (I used DX since I was using DXH1 as the PDA Part) save and replace CSHK3_XP.EXE file
5. Run setup.exe for the USB drivers and the other setup from unpacked new folder to install modem
6. Start CSHK3_XP.EXE (which you modified) and rom begin upgrading eboot+PDA+Phone. Detect Phone ( Tick mark all the components make sure device is charged fully and you have synchronised with active sync)
7. After upgrade completed and i780 restart set language and the device is ready
8. SPB Backuped up file from old rom insures you get the settings back.

Installation Instructions : Copy the files in your freshly formatted FAT32 Sd card. Insert the SD in your Axim, press Wifi and Power, then quickly press Reset and release while you keep pressing Wifi and Power till you see the SD Image Loader. Press the Action button (the 'center' button of the D-Pad) twice and the update will start.

Overview : This will install the Windows Mobile 2003 operating system on your Dell Axim x5. Not sure about the CE OS (kernel) and build version.

Installation Instructions :
These steps need to be followed to the word otherwise you could damage your Pocket PC. *NOTE: ALL DATA WILL BE ERASED FROM YOUR POCKET PC.

1. Download the A05 R64365 ROM update from Here
2. Open PPC2003 archive to extract the files contained to your Hard Drive.
3. Take a Compact Flash (I used a 64MB Compact Flash Card) and Format it with your PC.
4. Go to the folder where you extract the files in step 2 and copy to the root (not in a folder) of the Compact Flash Card, the file "P25_NK_H_07170300EN.IMG" (That is the ROM of PPC2003). There is another .IMG file in the directory of "P25_NK_H_07170300EN.IMG" (if doesn't work then try the other .IMG file). The archive is big, between 25 to 31MB may be more or less but must be big.
5. Insert the Compact Flash Card with the .IMG file into your Axim X5.
6. Remove Backup Battery and leave it removed, don't insert until you have finished PPC2003 installation.
7. Remove Main Battery and insert it again.
8. Remove and reinsert your Compact Flash Card.
9. Make this combination of Keys: Push RESET + PRESS SCROLL IN BUTTON + CONTACTS BUTTON + POWER
10. Remove your fingers from RESET and POWER BUTTONS but continue to press the SCROLL IN BUTTON and CONTACTS BUTTON for about 20 seconds. THIS MAY TAKE MORE THAT ONE TRY.
11. Soon you will see a white screen with information about ROM and RAM.

This is the boot of the pocket. It will detect the .IMG file from CF card and will continue to erase the ROM and copying the new ROM from CF Card.

12. After completing installation just follow the instructions that appear on your screen and you have Windows Mobile 2003.

Latest WM6 PDA Release from ASUS is 'P750', which has been now know to be plagued with hanging problems and system freezes. This new device which was rushed up in a race to get it released before upcoming HP 610 series in 2008 has been a huge faliure when it comes to be operational. This ROM Upgrade release just one month after the Device release itself is an attemt from ASUS to save its face, be honest to its customers and admit and rectify its problems in this device.

Caution:
1. Please check your extended ROM version from start/setting/system/system info/version and then start upgrade your P750 to latest firmware version. If there is no Extended ROM version, please hard reset your unit and then check the Extended ROM appears to start upgrade. Do not upgrade your P750 with out extended ROM version. In this situation, please contact your retailer or send your unit to our service center. Local engineer will help you upgrade your P750 firmware to latest one.
2. Do not interrupt the upgrade process and avoid touching keypad and screen when upgrading.
3. It is recommended to format SD card into FAT format.
4. Please make sure battery level is above 60%
5. Please make sure to use SD card with capacity 2G or less for upgrade.
6. Please make sure that there is no other folder named "2577".
7. If such folder exists, please rename it to a different name then change it back after upgrade.

Please follow below procedures to upgrade:
1. Please restart your P750 and turn off all wireless connection from start/setting/connection/wireless manager.
2. Power in adapter.
3. Unzip and copy all the files and folders (2577, AsusP750.cap, GPSFirmwareUpdate, PegasusP.cap, RadioFirmwareUpdate) into the root directory of a Micro-SD card(Non-SDHC).
4. Insert the Micro SD card to the device and wait for the Autorun.exe to run(It might takes few seconds).
5. If the Autorun.exe does not run automatically, please launch it from \Storage Card\2577\.
6. Follow the instructions until the updating is finished. The whole upgrade process should take about ten minutes.
7. Please Confirm version in "Start"=>"Setting"=>"System"=>"System Information"=>"Version".

Installation Instructions :
Here are official instructions, how to install new ROM. If you have WM5 language one of these:

use this instruction. If you have different language - look below.

1.Microsoft Windows Mobile 6 Update

Caution:
1.Do not upgrade to different language or regional version onto your PDA Phone, or it may cause device OS broken then won't turn on anymore.
2.It is recommended to format SD card into FAT format.
3.Please also install phone module firmware V4.6.0 or above.
4.After the installation, previous data will not be found.
Please use ActiveSync to synchronize and backup your personal data.
(Please do not use SPB Backup to backup and restore your personal data.
This action might cause system malfunction or data missing)
5.Due to compatibility issue, please use ActiveSync version 4.5
6.Please make sure battery level is above 60%
7.Please make sure to use SD card with capacity 2G or less for upgrade.
8.Please make sure that there is no other folder named "2577".
If such folder exist, please rename it to a different name then change it back after upgrade.
9.After the installation, please go to "Start"=>"Setting"=>"System" and restore back to default.
10.Please be notified that it cannot be downgraded to Mobile 5 after upgraded to Mobile 6.
Please make sure you acknowledge such limitation and then proceed with the following steps.

Please follow the below procedures to upgrade:
1.Please format your Mini-SD first.
2.Unzip the file and copy it to Mini-SD card's root folder
(Under Mini-SD's root folder, there should only be folder 2577, AsusP535.cap, and GalaxyII.cap;
In folder 2577, there should only be Autorun.exe).
3.Insert the Mini-SD with upgrade firmware into P535's expansion slot and wait for firmware to setup automatically.
If the firmware didn't execute automatically, please execute Autorun.exe in Storage Card\2577\.
4.Click "System" => "Update ROM"
5.System will enter update mode, here the first part of upgrade will start.
Warning:Do not interrupt the upgrade process. Please execute the rest of the steps until completing step 8 in order
for the unit to execute normally. After the upgrade is complete, a message in red will be displayed.
Please press and hold power button and reset at the same time to start second part of upgrade.
6.After reboot, it will automatically enter update mode. This upgrade takes about 3 mins, please wait patiently.
Please do not interrupt the upgrade process. After upgrade is done, system will reboot automatically.
7.After reboot, it will install extended ROM automatically. After upgrade is done, system will reboot automatically.
8.Please Confirm version in "Start"=>"Setting"=>"System"=>"System Information"=>"Version".

Please notice, don’t set device password in ‘password’ setting screen when logging in system after upgrade or clean boot, or it will make ‘password is valid’ problem happen.
Please set device password as follow: after system restart and goes in to today screen. Go to [Start] -> [Setting] -> [Personal] -> [Lock] then set password as you wish.

5. aproximatly count 4 sec. and release the power button
6. the screen will say SD DOWNLOAD [not DOWNLOAD IMG] and then after ~10 sec. the Orange bar will appear
7. The device will reboot automatically after it has completed flashing .

Overview : It is the best of the Athena Project ROM series. The best part of this rom is we have gotten a exclusive license from teksoftco.com to put in there FingerTouch keyboard into this rom. This is the best keyboard you can get for the athena and its in this rom and is the full version. They also made it work for all realvga dpi and customized it for us. thanx to Teksoft again. Unknown CE OS Build, please comment if you know it.

PocketCM removed and stock contacts is back.
Tray App removed due to problems.
Shantz Today Changer removed and cab in addons. had problems and it made space for other stuff.
